Space Game

Right now, I'm making a game taking place in space where the player plays an astronaut that has to get to their ship before oxygen runs out.  The obstacle will be time and space debris and I have to say it looks really good.  I had the space rocks procedurally spawned dependent on player position, and the new debris that the player has to avoid is spawned no matter where the player goes.  I think it will have beautiful graphics and great gameplay.

Jaywalker

Jaywalker
Since jaywalking has graced the local news recently, my friend and I decided to make a game about it.  Please play it and give me feedback about anything, you think will make it better.  I’m not finished with the project myself and am looking to add more things, but not get let it blow up in scope.

Mouse over pedestrians who are NOT on the sidewalk or crosswalk, or else you get a penalty.  Press 'Esc' or the pause button to pause the game.

My 30 mins with Warframe

NOTICE: This is old, but hey, why not:

Warframe is a free to play game released by Digital Extremes, a studio that also made my favorite monster game, The Darkness II.  Warframe is third person co-op only shooter, with emphasis on your warframe, weapons and abilities.  You can go it alone, or with a group of 4.  I find it to be a really fun romp and delightful to play a game where I don't get pwned by more experienced and wealthy players.

Graphics:  The graphics look great, and on my laptop run pretty decently.  I have a g105m gfx card and it still managed to get a good frame rate on med to low. Protip: turn down or turn off the shadows, as they are expensive.  I could clearly see my path, objectives and enemies.  The environments are a little muddy and kind of difficult to see where I'm going.  While crisp level design is confusing.

Sound: I find it funny that an alien race that is attacking another alien race, speaks English, and well too.  The gun sounds are decent, but since it's an alien species and they have alien weaponry, it's hard to pin down where it's good or not.  It's at least audible when I fire my gun, and weapons have different sounds to them.  It's all good.

Gameplay: Game play is really good. Movement and shooting are smooth, you can dodge, sprint and use your sword abilities.  These sword attacks are what make Warframe stand out, but not by much.  You can slash your way through waves of enemies,  or shoot them instead.  There are classes of characters but I didn't get to really choose. All I know is that I'm playing a Loki class, which is stealth based.

Overall:  It's a good F2P, co-op game.  It's not the best, compared to games like PlanetSide 2, but it's a great distraction.  It's free to play so I don't see a reason not to give it a try.

Anyway, back to work!! :D

Game development = entertainment on hard mode

Ok, so I'm making zombie game, with zombies actually doing what zombies do... eat! I called it "Zombie Feast!!" and it looks like fun.  I still have some more work to do like getting zombies to accurately attack the nearest food source.  It's coming along well.  Almost all base components are finished and once it is, I can move on to more style components. And this is only for the first level.  geesh.  What does it take to get some development completed?

Game development is entertainment on hard mode.  Anyone can pick up a camera and shoot, sing lyrics, or create beats can it can be called a movie, singing or music, respectively, but you cannot do that with game design.  Unless you put certain aspects togerther well, it cannot be called a game.  Hell, you can create applications easier than a game.  I made a batch file that killed processes and deleted a folder.  That took me a month to learn and 5 mins to write.  A game takes WAAAY longer even if you know what to do(and most don't).  It's a heavy undertaking and one that I wish people who stop taking lightly.  Well, anyway, back to work!!

The Naya Game

I created a game for my daughter called the Naya Game.  To play, you press the red square and it moved from place to place.  She got play it and loved it and wouldn't put down the phone.  Then her mom(my fiance) came up with a better idea: create a Bubble Guppies version, since she loves Bubble Guppies!!!  I though that was a great idea.  Now, I'm working to tweak the game so that it can have her favorites Guppies on it.  Nice job, my love, well played. lol

Zombie Feast - Alpha WOOOOT!!!!

Got a webplayer version of zombie feast alpha for all to test out.  I'll put the link in when I can.  Man, it was a struggle to get the AI to work the way I wanted it to, but it's done.
The trick, don't code at home!!!  I'm serious! I had to go to Starbucks to write it.  Hell, I'm still here as I type right now.  But it was all worth it.  That satisfaction I get when what I want works = priceless!!!
